Things to do in Denver this weekend 8/16-8/18

There are so many things to do in Denver this weekend, because summer is beginning to wind down it is festival season! There are plenty of events that aren’t festivals too.

What to do in Denver 8/16-8/17

8/16 Family fun night: Curious Carnivorous Plants at the Denver Botanic Gardens- For only $20 per member family, $25 for non-member families of four, $3 per additional member and $4 per additional non-member (children under 2 are free) you can have a whole evening of learning and fun! Take a closer look at the curious world of carnivorous plants. You will discover the unique adaptations of these amazing plants. The Butterfly Pavilion will join in the fun with some little bug friends too!

8/16-8/17 Wheat Ridge Carnation Festival- The fun starts at 4pm on Friday 8/16 with the Midway and carnival entertainment. There is something for everyone at this beautiful festival

8/16-8/17 16th Street Fair- This fair is a big celebration of fine arts, handcrafted goods, and the 16th Street Mall in general! Take a little walk down the Mall and enjoy a showcase of products and art from local designers and vendors.

8/17 Chipotle Cultivate- On Saturday from 11am-7pm you can join Chipotle to learn about food in general and mix it with some fun! Featuring music (Cold War Kids, Allen Stone, Air Dubai, Blitzen Trapper, Good Old War, and Chris Golub), amazing chef tutorials (Richard Blais, Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson, Scott Parker, Amanda Freitag, Nate Appleman and Joel Holland). There will be farmers there too so that you can learn about sustainably raised food, where it comes from and who raises it.

You can earn a free burrito as you go too! Learn and earn!

8/17 Denver Pet Expo- Stop by the Denver Pet Expo and enjoy a special appearance by Shorty Rossi (and his pit bull, Hercules), star of ‘Pit Boss’ on Animal Planet. Visit with 165 + pet-friendly exhibitors, enjoy live demos, receive low-cost vaccinations, win some giveaways, receive discounts on your favorite pet products, retailers and much more! Fun for the whole family! Plus a huge adoption event with 300+ pets available. This event is being held at the Merchandise Mart, admission is FREE!
