Snow Mountain Ranch Denver day-trips

Disclosure: We were invited to visit Snow Mountain Ranch to enjoy all of the activities they have to offer. No other compensation was received. All opinions are 100% our own and were not influenced in any way. We seriously loved this place, and we’ll be going back soon!

If you are looking for a Denver day-trip, or a weekend getaway, Snow Mountain Ranch could be the perfect option for you! Located about 2 hours outside of Denver, you will find this incredible YMCA paradise.

Snow Mountain Ranch is fun for all ages

This isn’t just another camp site, or hotel, there is something special happening here. You can choose from camping sites, yurts, cabins, or lodge rooms for your stay. All of the spaces are great, and better yet? All of them allow you to enjoy the amenities of the YMCA for free (or a small fee for some activities). The cabins are very nice, and the lodge rooms are pretty good too; although, they aren’t your standard hotel, they are a bit older and there isn’t a TV in the room, but that just helps to bring your family together… like, truly together. Without TV. Can you imagine sitting and playing board games together in a quiet room? It’s lovely!

What is there to do at Snow Mountain Ranch

Summer tubing hill– The newest feature at Snow Mountain Ranch is the summer tubing hill. You grab a tube and head for the top of the hill, slide down a hill covered in what resembles that grass rug that grandma had on her back porch, but it’s white. There is some water spraying on the “grass” and inevitably on you too, but you won’t mind because you’ll probably be having too much fun! When you get to the bottom, you don’t even have to lug that tube back up the hill. You just hop on the Magic Carpet and it will take you back to the top to go again! Time is available in hour long slots, which will allow you to ride the hill approximately 5 times, depending on how many people show up for your time slot. A quick list of some other activities*-

Planning your visit

Snow Mountain Ranch is a great place to go for a day, or a weekend, or a week; it is just fun in general! They are planning to expand over the next few years too, and the plans are insanely cool. Planning your activities for your stay can take a bit of planning, and memory. You have to book your activities 2 days in advance, you can try to do it 1 day in advance too, but you might not get to do everything you had on your list. Look at the activities, pick your top choices and call to book times. Keep track of activities/times on your phone calender or on a piece of paper that you keep with you. You don’t want to be late because you will be holding everyone up, and you only get an hour, so that won’t make you very popular.
